Acorn Adventure was founded in 1982 by a teacher who wanted to show his pupils what adventures lay beyond the inner city school where he taught.

The simple camping experience he and his pupils first enjoyed has now been expanded into full adventure programmes. Camping is still at the heart of each of our centres and coupled with adventurous activities our programmes give young people self-esteem, independence and responsibility. They teach the importance of teamwork and respect for others, but most of all, Acorn centres are hugely fun-filled and exciting. Living within an Acorn Village, situated in a fantastic location, taking part in activities gives everyone a sense of achievement and culminates in a fantastic Experience for life.

We also offer Family Adventure holidays which allows family groups the same service, benefits and fun-packed days combined with the camping experience. Family Adventure takes place between July and September in most of our locations across Europe. In addition to our Adventure products, Acorn also has a ski division, and a cultural school tour division.

Our “village” concept is unique. The Acorn village is specifically designed to provide the perfect setting to encourage team spirit and personal development. The tented villages are designed to maximise the outdoor experience. We strongly believe that the camping element within an adventure trip enhances the benefits perfectly. Camping helps young people take more responsibility for themselves and it is a much more relaxing environment for Group Leaders to monitor and control than other types of accommodation. Villages usually take 48 guests at a time, but can be expanded to accept up to 60.
