St Anton

The Tyrolean resort of St. Anton lies in the Arlberg region of the Austrian Alps, at the western end of Austria and only 45 minutes from the Swiss border. Its indigenous population of a mere 2,500 or so belies the fact that in winter, the village is a bustling centre of wintersports activity.

Since the early 1900s, when St. Anton first became a destination for international skiers, the village has inevitably expanded to accommodate the increasing demands of tourism. Yet emphasis on quality, not quantity, has meant that the village has successfully combined its traditional character and romantic ambience with the modern infrastructure of a world-class ski resort.
