The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the world's greatest libraries. It houses a collection of 150 million items, in over 400 languages, to which three million new items are added every year. We house books, magazines, manuscripts, maps, music scores, newspapers, patents, databases, philatelic items, prints and drawings and sound recordings.

Some of the most famous items include the Magna Carta, Lindisfarne Gospels, Leonardo da Vinci's Notebook, The Times first edition from 18 March 1788, Beatles manuscripts, and the recording of Nelson Mandela's Rivonia trial speech.

The catering and hospitality at the British Library is provided by Leith's, who specialise in providing conference and banqueting, hospitality and food services to cultural, arts and exhibition locations throughout the country.
