Challenge Activ have only the one chalet which enables us to provide the personal service that most companies only claim to. We may rent the chalet next door for over-spill, but very rarely and only when children are involved so that we provide two sittings for dinner. We have an average of 60% to 70% of return guests every year; this makes looking after them easy, as they know how everything works! We have been here so long we know the off-piste play areas, the short cuts, where to go in different weather conditions, the best restaurants. We cook in ONLY 5 nights a week! Challenge Activ as employersWe are fair, we do expect commitment from you and we are there to make sure it happens from everyone in the team. Simon and I help on evenings when we are particularly busy, we eat in with the guests most nights. Your hours will be shown on your contract, but in a typical day we'll have everyone out of the Chalet by 09.20, this is cleaning/preping time until you are finished and ready to go up the mountain. Guests will be back by 16.30/17.00 for tea, dinner at 20.00 on the dot. When dinner is finished and cleaned down (usually by 21.45/22.00) it is your time again. We provide your own accommodation beneath the Chalet with separate access. Two bedrooms, living room with TV/DVD and bathroom. Chalet FloriThe Chalet is extremely well equipped, both for our guests and our team. This is because we are involved with the business at all levels (we did all the cooking and cleaning in the earlier days) and we have seen what is required to run the Chalet and run it well. We used to be able to call her luxury, but now everyone is selling Jacuzzis, 'en-suite', etc., she is comfortable. 10 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a sauna, 2 living rooms and a separate dinning area actually make her VERY comfortable. Skiing/BoardingThe Portes du Soliel area is huge and there are parts we still have not skied even though this is our 17th winter! We are providing the Morzine/Avoriaz pass, the full area pass can be purchased for an upgrade of approximately 300€. Occasionally we'll leave the valley to ski somewhere else for the day. Chamonix is 1hr away, Flaine/Le Grand Massive 40mins away. In the quiet periods you will be able to join in Montriond ESF lessons and try out newer equipment. The AASS has regular staff lessons for 15/20€ for 2 hours. We tend to start the day from Ardent; this gives us perfect access to the high altitude resort of Avoriaz, to Switzerland and to Chatel. There is a regular free bus from the chalet to Ardent, or a 10 min walk to the Super Morzine lift. |
