About Davis Cup
Great Britain will take on Austria on the No.1 Court at The All England Lawn Tennis Club in their Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Play-off tie on 19 - 21 September 2008. The last Davis Cup tie played at Wimbledon was in last September's play-offs when Great Britain defeated Croatia 4-1. Great Britain Captain John Lloyd said: "I am delighted that this crucial tie is going to be played at Wimbledon which is a fantastic venue and I firmly believe that playing on grass will give us the best opportunity to win the tie. It's a tough draw but one that we are fully capable of winning. I am sure tennis fans will get behind the team and come along to support the players in our bid to return to the World Group in 2009." This is only the fifth time a Davis Cup tie has been played at Wimbledon in the last 30 years.
